Journey to Kandersteg

By public transport

The train to Kandersteg departs every hour from Bern or Brig.

Relief trains
The relief trains run on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays (details under the above link).

Zurich – Kandersteg (2 h); Basel – Kandersteg (2.3 h); Genf-Kandersteg (3 h); Bern – Kandersteg (1.30 h).

Once arrived in Kandersteg you have the possibility to use our local bus or you may continue on foot.

The public bus in the direction of Frutigen will also take you to the end of the village („Kehr“.)

 

By car

From Basel/Zürich, approx. 1.5 – 2 hours: The highway A1 till Bern, A6 till Spiez, heading to Frutigen – Kandersteg. From Geneva, approx. 3 hours: The highway A1 till Bern, A6 till Spiez, heading to Frutigen – Kandersteg.

By aeroplane

After your arrival at the airport you may take the train to Bern (SBB). Changing in Bern to a local train called „Lötschberger-Regiozug“ you arrive in Kandersteg within 1.30 h.

From the Zurich airport to Kandersteg you have about 2.20 h; from Geneva approx. 3h, from Basel-Mulhouse approx. 2.30h, from Lugano-Agno approx. 5.30h, from Milano-Bergamo approx. 3h.
