Cross-Country Skiing Lesson - for all those who want to test, experience, learn or improve their cross-country skiing!

18th Kandersteg Nordic Day

YOU and your friends - The cross-country skiing event for companies, clubs and families! Everyone can join inThe Kandersteg Nordic Day.
All team members start at the same time. For 45 minutes each participant completes as many rounds for their team as they want (and have the energy to do so). The more members a team has got, the easier it will be for them to collect rounds. After 45 min there is a signal, and the new round which has just started is finished and evaluated, target finish is after 60 min.

Date 01st February 2020
Distance/mode Teams of at least 4 runners, age 0-100, appearance is assessed, round of 3333 m in the freestyle technique (classic lane also available)
Entrance fee

CHF 20.00 per participant, Children born in 2004 and younger: CHF 10.00. The enterance fee includes:

Participation in the Nordic Team Race
Completed rounds counted using an electronic data chip
Catering during the race
Participants prize and team photo

  • Handing out of starting numbers and late entries to race: 8.30 am - 1 pm in the parish hall
  • Photo opportunity for the team photo: 12 noon - 1.30 pm at the Schützenhaus, Start/Finish
  • Concert of Guggenmusik - Swiss carnival marching band - at 1 pm
  • Official presentation of the teams and evaluation by the jury: 1.45 pm
  • Start Nordic Team Race (mass start): 2 pm
  • Target finish time: from 2.45 pm
  • Then: Announcement of final race positions and prize draws on the Müllermatte, Start/target

Late registrations are possible up to 1 hour before the start of the race. Late registration fee of CHF 20 per team.

49th Kandersteg "Volkslauf" half-Marathon

The half-marathon in the majestic mountain world of Kandersteg. Thanks to the easy route it is also suitable for hobby skiers!
The Kandersteg people’s ski race half-marathon is part of the Swiss Loppet series. You can find out more about it
Membership of Swiss Ski is a prerequisite for participation in the Swiss Loppet. For competitors to be included in the Swiss Loppet ranking list, they must additionally submit their P-No. (= membership number on their Swiss Ski ID) when registering for each Swiss Loppet cross-country skiing event.

  • Handing out of starting numbers: Saturday, 01st February 2020, 8.30 am - 1 pm and 4.30 - 6 pm (+ late registrations in the "Gemeindesaal")
  • Handing out of race starting numbers: Sunday,02nd February 8.00 - 10.15 am in the "Gemeindesaal"
  • Start of the people’s skiing race, 21 km (mass start): from 11.15 am on the Schützenhaus
  • Announcement of finishing positions: 3 pm in the "Gemeindesaal"

(a lane is made available for classic skiers too)

5th CRAFT Kids Cup 2020

The future belongs to the young people - this is also true for the future of cross-country skiing.
Over 3 to 10 km (depending on age) the children test themselves on an easy route.

PICK & PACK - The fun category

We are giving the “Kandersteg race” its true character back! Whether you’re young or old, fast or slow:
Before the start, bring your empty backpack along with you. During the race,  you PICK the prizes you have "find" on the way and then PACK them in your bag!
The noble cross-country skiing pleasure over 10 km.

CHF 25.00 for people born in the year 2003 and older
CHF 20.00 for people born in the year 2004 and younger

CHF 35.00 people born in the year 2004 and younger
